When it comes to digital marketing, SEO is king. If you look at your other avenue's of generating traffic online we have things like Facebook Ads, Social Media Pages, Google Ads, Email Blasts. The problem with the PPC model is you are literally paying money to get people to click on your site or page. This can be effective for some campaigns but it's subject to decay and if you do close the customers you have your ad spend going against your revenue on what a lot of the times was already special pricing for your driven ad. So unless you have up sales in place to help recoup some of that it can be difficult to run a good profit and depending on how small your business is could leave you working more for less.
Social Media accounts while they don't cost for exposure, you're not really targeting a specific market and a lot of your exposure is probably to people not looking for your services. It is great for branding, and name recognition it's not a reliable source of traffic to fund your business. This brings me to my point. The number one way to guarantee customers, without spending wasted money and cutting profits is generic search. What's really cool to me is when I sit down with owners and ask them, "What's the one service you wish you could do all day? You're a plumber, so if I said hypothetically Mr. Owner, you've got 5 guys working for you and they're going to be booked from open to close 7 days a week however, you can only pick one specific service that all of them will be doing all day every day, what do you pick?" He laughs and says that EASY! "Hot Water Repairs!" He goes on to explain that it's his highest ROI he has a very good deal with a local supplier and his guys can turn them out quick and he just kills it with them. So I can tell you this, this client will be very happy if I can make this hypothetical a reality and that's a win for both us. Running his social media accounts won't make this happen. Running facebook ads for water heater repair/replacement won't make this happen. That said for his market there were 150 Google searches a month for emergency water heater repair.
So why there will be some initial costs to hire me to do this for him, once I get him to the promise land, his phone lines will be filled with all of these people calling him to quickly fix his water heater problems! That's what is powerful about SEO. You can pick what you want to sell, and go make sure when people search for that service, it's your number that Google is putting in front of their face.
My name is Brody Nuckolls and I've been in the digital marketing space for the last 7 years. What's fascinating to me and what really drew me in to it was how much I was spending weekly on ad spend and how much that cut into my ROI. It was at that point that I really dove deep into SEO and generic rankings and getting natural traffic to my business. It worked so well a friend of mine asked me how I was able to boost my business so much so quickly and when I told him I did it all with absolutely zero ad spend his mind was blown! I applied the same methods I used for my site on his and had the same results I knew I found something here. I haven't looked back ever since!
